To support training and development for local authority teams we are offering to match those looking for peer support within the North West.

What will NWADCS do?

Colleagues looking for peer support may contact us to request a match. 

We will match or circulate requests for matches depending on the number of requests received. 

When a match is made it will be for those involved to decide on the arrangements for their relationship. 

If a match does not work for whatever reason please feel free to contact us and request a new arrangement. 

How will it work?

We suggest the following to support you establishing a supportive relationship:

• Having a clear purpose for the relationship and potentially goals to be worked towards. 
• Agreeing what you want to get out of each session and preparing for these appropriately. 
• Coming to the sessions being ready to be open and to take and give constructive feedback. 
• Setting expectations for length, frequency and format of the sessions.

If you are interested in being matched with someone for peer support please contact us with the following information:

• Name and contact details
• Role and organisation
• Brief bio or summary of career history; this is optional but may support the matching process
• Areas of expertise; this can include those gained outside your current role or work area
• Areas of interest; this can include those from outside your current role or work area
• Suggested matches; this may include job roles, seniority within an organisations, work areas or topics of interest
• What you feel you could offer a colleague; this could include career advice, reflective conversations, development of subject knowledge etc
• What you are looking to get from the support of a colleague; this could be work towards specific goals or career progression, development of skills, general or specific guidance etc
• Parameters for the sessions; this may include a preference for in person or online, availability or frequency of sessions
